Stefaan was born in Niel, a former village of brickyards in the shadow of Antwerp. As a son of a painter and graphic artist, he came in touch with the tools of painting and drawing from an early age on. His father remained his great teacher and mentor throughout his life.
During his student years Stefaan was strongly influenced by the Flemish Primitives, the 17th century still life painters and the Antwerp hyperrealist movement led by Willem Dolphyn.
The images in this gallery show a selection of recent paintings. Please inquire if these paintings are still available for sale and in which art gallery they are shown.
Besides occasionally held exhibitions, Stefaan mainly works for a limited number of galleries. You can have a look at the available paintings in their collection through the attached links.
Throughout his career, Stefaan has worked with established international galleries. Burlington Paintings Ltd. and Albemarle Gallery in Mayfair London, Pieter Breughel in Amsterdam, Henk Broeke Art Gallery in The Hague, to name but a few.
In his studio in the French countryside, Stefaan organises two open studio weekends each year (3rd and 4th weekend of July). The rest of the year studio visits are possible by appointment.
